Resident led Advocacy Service
There is a project underway, designed by two residents which is a confidential advocacy service that enables residents to support all residents in solving ongoing issues between individual residents and Sovereign Housing Association. An example of such an issue would be an ongoing maintenance problem which is proving difficult to resolve, for whatever reason. The proposed Advocacy Service is not intended to replace the official complaints procedure of Sovereign Housing Association. It is a service led by residents, for residents. The proposed service has the support of SHA. It is hoped that the service will be introduced sometime in the latter part of 2010, after the appropriate training is given to the volunteer advocates. We believe, based on shared experience that such a service could be of value to residents. As part of our research we have consulted with a small number of residents who have indicated that such a service is a good idea. We would like to know YOUR views. If you have a few minutes to spare, we would appreciate your help in answering the following questions. All replies will be treated in strictest confidence.
Thank you for taking the time to answer the questions because you are important to us. If you are interested in receiving further information please email at advocacy.service@sovereign.org.uk
